Nominations for the Ponytails Board of Directors were held last Thursday and I must admit the turnout was quite sparse. Please be advised that nominations are still open up to and including election night. If you have ever considered taking a larger role in the league, now is the time to step up. Anyone can be nominated for any open position. All but two positions are up for election this year. The Vice President and Secretary are two year terms and those positions were elected in 2009. Descriptions of all the board positions are listed in the link below so you can see what’s required and try to find something you may be interested in. A list of the 2009-2010 Board of Directors can be found by clicking on the link on the left.

The Lancaster/Depew Ponytails is one of the premier girl's fastpitch softball organizations in Western New York.  The league provides nearly 500 girls from the age of 5 through 20 years the opportunity to learn and play organized softball.

The league also has highly competitive tournament/travel teams known as the "HEAT". The "HEAT" compete in age groups from 10 years and under through 18 years and under. The teams are regarded as some of the best in their age groups in Western New York State (Buffalo Metro Area).

The league has a Batting and Training Facility located in Walden Pond Park that has been almost entirely designed and built by volunteers. It houses (2) collapsible batting cages, equipment and concession stand storage areas, conference room, "Pro-Shop" and restroom facilities. All players in both House and Travel will have multiple opportunities to use the facility during the year.
